I'm Jeanne. I coach girls and young women on decision-making and self-trust.
I'm certified by the International Coaching Federation, the global body that sets professional standards for coaching. That means accredited training, supervised practice, examinations, and a code of ethics with an independent complaints procedure I don't control. I have a law degree, and went on to study psychology at graduate level before training as a coach.
It's a narrow focus on purpose, because it's a specific problem and it needs someone who has thought about it for a long time, and remembers it.
HOW I WORK
Mostly I ask questions.
QUESTIONS
The kind that open up an angle she hadn't considered, or turn over something she'd stopped looking at.
OBSERVATIONS
Sometimes I put one to her to see what she makes of it. Agree or disagree, either way it's a clue to what's underneath, and to what her gut is already telling her.
She arrives at the answer herself, because that's the only version that builds anything.
I'm not her parent or her teacher, and what she says stays between us, unless she's at risk.
WHY THIS AND NOT SOMETHING ELSE
There was nothing in between.
I remember how overwhelming my teenage years were. Every decision felt enormous, and it was hard to tell what I actually wanted. It got easier the more I got to know myself.
What I noticed was the gap. There was serious help, if something was seriously wrong. And there were friends and family, who love you but have their own idea of who you should be. Nothing in between.
Even advice that comes from love is someone else's view. It's worth hearing. It just isn't the same as knowing what you think.
That's where this work sits. My training is what qualifies me. Remembering how it felt is why I do it.
